一、课程的性质和目的          

《大学英语4》是以英语语言知识与应用技能、学习策略和跨文化交际为主要内容，以外语教学理论为指导，并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。其教学目的是培养学生具有较强的英语综合应用能力，使他们能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流，同时增强自主学习能力和综合文化素养，以适应今后工作、进一步学习和进行国际交流的需要。        

《大学英语4》是大学英语教学的第四阶段，期末时，学生在读、写、译等方面应能够达到大学英语四级水平。        

     

二、课程教学内容及各章节学时分配        

Book Three

三、课程基本要求    

本课程在加强英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时，重视培养学生实际使用英语进行交际的能力。通过本课程的学习，学生应该达到下列要求：    

1、听力理解能力：能基本听懂题材熟悉、句子结构比较简单、基本上没有生词、语速为每分钟110—130词的英语长对话、报道和讲座，能掌握其中心大意，抓住要点和相关细节，领会讲话者的观点和态度。    

2、口语表达能力：能够就教材内容进行复述并作简短发言，较好地掌握会话策略，能基本表达个人意见、情感、观点等，能基本陈述事实、事件、理由等，表达思想清楚，语音、语调基本正确。    

3、阅读理解能力：能顺利阅读语言难度中等的一般性题材的文章，掌握中心大意，并能运行一定的分析、推理和判断，领会作者的观点和态度，阅读速度为每分钟70—90词。在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度较低的材料时，能掌握中心大意，抓住主要事实和有关细节，阅读速度达到每分钟120词    

4、书面表达能力：能结合教材中所学章节的内容和主题在半小时内写出不少于120词的短文，能写提纲、简历、便条和求职信，内容完整，观点明确，条理清楚，无重大语言错误。    

5、 翻译能力：能借助词典将难度略低于课文的英语短文译成中文，理解正确，译速为每小时约300个英语单词，能够借助词典将内容熟悉的汉语译成英文，译速为每小时约200个汉字。译文通顺达意，理解和语言表达无重大错误，能使用适当的翻译技巧。    

6、推荐词汇量：掌握的词汇量应达到约4500个单词和700个词组(含中学应掌握的词汇)，其中约2500个单词为积极词汇，即要求学生能够在认知的基础上在口头和书面表达两个方面熟练运用的词汇。    

   

四、本课程与其它有关课程的关系    

《大学英语4》是一门必修基础课，它与其它的课程学习有着紧密地联系，英语读写能力的提高和听说能力的提高相辅相成。    

1、《全新版大学英语综合教程》第三册每个单元由同一题材的两篇文章组成每个单元由同一题材的两篇文章组成。课文A为精读材料，配有阅读理解、词汇、结构、翻译、写作等多种练习；课文B为泛读材料。课文前系统介绍各种基本阅读技能，课文后配有阅读理解练习题。《综合教程》把精读、泛读融为一体，使听、说、读、写、译五种技能的训练和培养围绕着精读课文进行，重点培养读、写、译的语言能力。    

2、《全新版大学英语听说教程》第三册与《全新版大学英语综合教程》第三册紧密结合，以功能意念训练贯穿始终，采用了听、说相结合的方法，充分利用现代化教学手段，旨在全面提高学生的听说能力。《全新版大学英语听说教程》第三册每个单元由4部分组成：    

Part A听前训练，旨在帮助学生了解本单元主题和相关词汇信息，以口语练习为主；    

Part B听说训练，有1篇听力材料，着重语篇训练，旨在培养学生听说能力，含Listening Tasks和Speaking Tasks 两个练习；    

Part C Test Your Listening 配有与主题有关的对话或短文及练习；    

此外，书末配有两套综合试题，用来测试学生的听力水平。    

3、《全新版大学英语听说教程》第三册与《全新版大学英语读写教程》第三册分工不同且各有侧重点，但相互间又紧密配合，形成一个有机的整体，以实现大纲规定的大学英语教学的目的，即：“培养学生具有较强的阅读能力，一定的听、说、写、译能力，使他们能以英语为工具交流信息。”

六、学时分配表    

总学时：36学时；周学时：2学时；教学周：18周（课堂教学周17周+假期1周）    

注：①课堂教学周17周+假期1周（第五周）；    

② 6、7、8单元为学生自主学习内容，教师予以指导和监督；    

③课堂语言实践、学习策略指导内容：大学英语学习指导、学习策略、口语实践活动、英语电影片段赏析、四六级考试应试技巧等。    

   

七、成绩考核方式    

本课程考试采用期末笔试和平时成绩相结合的手段，期末考试形式为笔试，成绩总分为100分，题型以大学英语四六级考试题型为参考，内容涵盖基础知识和能力的测试。期末卷面成绩70%，平时成绩30%（考勤、作业、课堂活动和口语测试，每一项占平时成绩的25%）。
