一、课程的性质和目的
《大学英语视听说网络课2》是高等学校人文教育的重要组成部分,兼有工具性和人文性。就工具性而言,本课程是基础教育阶段英语教学的提升和拓展,可在高中英语教学的基础上进一步提高学生视、听、说的能力;就人文性而言,本课程的重要任务之一是进行跨文化教育。语言是文化的载体,同时也是文化的组成部分,学生学习和掌握英语这一交流工具,除了学习、交流先进的科学技术或专业信息之外,还要了解国外的社会与文化,增进对不同文化的理解、对中外文化异同的意识,培养跨文化交际能力。人文性的核心是以人为本,弘扬人的价值,注重人的综合素质培养和全面发展。
学生在完成《大学英语视听说网络课2》阶段的学习之后,可从视、听、说维度实现从《英语视听说1》(网络课程)到《大学英语视听说网络课2》教学的过渡与转变,能够基本适应大学英语的教学模式和课程要求,能够在教师指导下进行独立学习。到《大学英语视听说网络课2》学习结束时,学生在视、听、说等方面应能够达到大学英语三级水平。

三、课程基本要求
《大学英语视听说网络课2》是大学英语教学第二阶段的教学内容,是大学英语课程教学的基础。通过本课程的学习,学生应该达到下列要求:
1、听力理解能力:能听懂英语授课,能听懂日常英语谈话和一般性题材的讲座,能听懂语速适中(每分钟150词左右)的英语广播和电视节目,能掌握其中心大意,抓住要点。能运用基本的听力技巧。
2、口语表达能力:能在学习过程中用英语交流,并能就某一主题进行讨论,能就日常话题用英语进行交谈,能经准备后就所熟悉的话题作简短发言,表达比较清楚,语音、语调基本正确,能在交谈中使用基本的会话策略。
3、推荐词汇量:掌握的词汇量应达到约3400个单词和1200个词组(含中学应掌握的词汇),其中约2200个单词为积极词汇,即要求学生能够在认知的基础上在口头和书面表达两个方面熟练运用的词汇。
四、本课程与其它有关课程的关系
《大学英语视听说网络课2》是一门必修基础课,它与其它的课程学习有着紧密地联系,英语读写能力的提高和听说能力的提高相辅相成:
《大学英语视听说网络课2》与《全新版大学英语综合教程2》和《21世纪大学英S版视听说教程2》同时于普通本科专业学生第一学期开设。此三门课程分工不同,各有侧重点,相互间又紧密配合,形成一个有机的整体,以实现大纲规定的大学英语教学的目的,即:“培养学生具有较强的阅读能力,一定的听、说、写、译能力,使他们能以英语为工具交流信息。”
